Lil'Learners: School Readiness
Our Lil' Learners school readiness sessions feature the Little Learners Love Literacy program. This program has been developed from evidence-based research, proven to engage children's interest whilst explicitly teaching the necessary skills to read, spell and write with confidence.

Cost: $36.00 per session, $324 per 9-week term + $19.95 one off fee for materials
Class Time: Thursday 10:00am-11:00am
Class frequency: 1 class per week (1 hour)
This class is suitable for preschool age students from 3.5-5 years of age.
Our Lil' Learners sessions feature the Little Learners Love Literacy program. Milo the monkey calls his friends to invite them to his birthday party, but everybody is busy preparing a surprise for him! Children can search the entertaining illustrations for clues about what birthday surprises are in store for Milo. Each of Milo’s fun friends introduce a new sound and letter. Children absolutely LOVE meeting each new character and are excited to see which new 'friend' Milo will invite next.
Sounds and letters are introduced systematically following the sequence of the Little Learners Love Literacy® program (Stages 1–4): m s f a p t c i b h n o d g l v y r e qu z j u k x w.
Lil’ Learners classes focus on:
- Recognise letters and their most common sound
- Be able to participate in phonological awareness activities
- Reading and spelling simple two and three letter words
- Enhancing oral language skills by encouraging students to express their ideas and observations
- Learning the meaning of new words to build upon students' vocabularies
- Strengthening fine motor skills, ensuring correct pencil grip, starting point and formation when writing letters
- Writing names correctly, using both upper and lowercase letters
- Working cooperatively with others
- Learning to listen to and follow simple instructions
- Developing greater confidence and self-esteem as they achieve and share their successes
Children will receive:

- Personally named book to keep all weekly work
- Access to a range of decodable readers
- Weekly resources and activities to complete at home to consolidate learning.
