A specific key learning area of numeracy will be integrated into each session. The numeracy component of each session aims to provide children with a solid number sense. Children will:
Recognise and record numbers
Know the sequence of numbers
Be aware of counting using one-to-one correspondence
Begin to subitise (the ability to recognise how many without the need to count all. This is a crucial early numeracy skill to develop number facts)
Explore and create patterns
